Scarlet Page recalls Toe Rag Studios in Hackney, London as “no-nonsense.” “You go there to record music and that is it.” When shooting the White Stripes for a 2002 Kerrang! magazine cover, she thought to take the band outside into the alley instead. There, among the gritty cobwebs contrasting their “smart” stage outfits, she captured an indelible image of the band.
