“Let’s drive up to Wisconsin and hang out with The Who.”
As photographer Paul Natkin tells it, a friend/publicist called him in July 1989 with an intriguing invite: “Come and pick me up at my hotel” so we can go visit The Who in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Because the legendary band “seemed to break up every couple of years,” Natkin jumped at the opportunity. This special shot is from that memorable visit.
